  • Campbell High School is home to the Cobb County School District's first academic magnet program, established in 1997.It offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, which is a comprehensive, rigorous, pre-university course of study that incorporates international perspectives, intercultural understanding, and a global mindset.

  • Prospective students apply online during their 8th-grade year to attend Campbell in the magnet program for all four years of high school. The admissions timeline, applicant requirements, and central application portal are managed directly by the Cobb County School District (CCSD) on their official Magnet Programs webpage. Admission is generally based on academic potential, standardized test scores, middle school grades, teacher recommendations, and the student essay.

  • Yes! The Cobb County School District (CCSD) provides transportation for all out-of-zone magnet students using a system of arterial stops.

    Instead of stopping in individual neighborhoods, magnet buses use centralized hubs (such as a local elementary school or a major intersection) typically located within a 5-mile radius of your home. Parents are responsible for getting their students to and from these designated arterial stops.

    • Study six subjects (three at the Standard Level and three at the Higher Level) over two years.

    • Complete the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course.

    • Write an Extended Essay (an independent, self-directed piece of research)

    • Complete CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) projects outside of the classroom.

    • Earn a minimum of 24 out of 45 possible points on final IB assessments.

  • CAS stands for Creativity, Activity, and Service, and it is a mandatory component of the IB Diploma. Seniors complete a self-directed project that gives back to the community. In late February or early March, the IBBC hosts a "Senior Showcase" or CAS Night (similar to a science fair mixed with a networking mixer) where seniors present their projects to parents, teachers, and juniors looking for project inspiration.
