How to Apply for Admission to CHS IB

For current 8th graders seeking admission to CHS IB, the online application system will be available on October 1, 2017 at the following address: The application system cannot be accessed until October 1st.

Students should complete and submit their online application for the CHS IB magnet program. All instructions are listed in the portal. Students will need to have a valid email address that you check frequently because all instructions and communications will be done via email. Remember that you will be submitting names and email addresses for the four teacher recommendations, and you should check to be sure you enter that information correctly so they get the notice from the application system. Teachers will receive the notice about recommendations once you submit the application, and they have until mid-January to submit their references.

Private/home school students are able to complete the online application as well. In addition to the application, we will need you to submit an official academic transcript from 7th and 8th grade that includes all grades and standardized test scores. This information should be obtained by the student/parents and submitted to CHS IB c/o Mr. Penick in January so that we have all the information to make informed admissions decisions in February. If you are applying to more than one magnet program, you only need to send ONE copy of the transcript to one program–we can all see the same data so there is no need to duplicate it for multiple programs. In addition to sending the transcript, private/home school students will also take a PSAT on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Wheeler High School. By completing the magnet program application, a student is automatically registered for the PSAT, so there is no need to register or do anything else. All applications must be submitted by the end of the day on December 1, 2017; anything entered into the portal after 11:59 PM on Dec 1st cannot be accepted. Please be sure to click the SUBMIT button on the last page to be sure your information is entered completely. The Open House for all students and families interested in the IB Diploma Program will be held on THURSDAY, October 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Livingston Auditorium at Campbell High School. If you were unable to attend the Open House event, please contact the IB Coordinator, Dan Penick, to make alternate arrangements for a visit to the school.
