IB Open House for Interested Students

The Open House for all Cobb County students and families interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at CHS will be held on THURSDAY, October 15, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Livingston Auditorium at Campbell High School.

After a general information session, prospective students and their families will get a chance to hear from the IB faculty members, to meet parents of alumni and current students, and to talk to the IB students. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the program from the people who live it each day. If you have questions, email Mr. Penick (Daniel.Penick@cobbk12.org) or call us at 678-842-6856.

If you are unable to attend the Open House event, please contact the IB Coordinator, Dan Penick, to make alternate arrangements for a visit to the school. We look forward to seeing you soon as part of CHS IB!

IB Perspectives: Nirosha Perera

As we complete our year, it’s always helpful to see how our alumni are succeeding in school and life. As a recent graduate who now attends Harvard University, Nirosha Perera is a great example of how IB can support your goals and open many doors to opportunities in the working world. Click on the video to hear Nirosha discuss her IB experience and what she’s doing now.

Congratulations to the CHS IB Class of 2019!

Congratulations to those students who have been accepted into the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program at Campbell High School!  Throughout this year’s record-breaking application process, the Admissions Committee took great care in selecting the strongest candidates who will contribute to our legacy of high achievement.  Our faculty and staff look forward to working with you over the next four years in Cobb County’s only International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

In an effort to assist your decision-making for next year, we will host an informational Open House for Accepted Students on Tuesday, March 10th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in the Livingston Auditorium at Campbell High School. Teachers, current students, IB alumni, and parents will be available to share their personal experiences and answer questions that you might have concerning Campbell IB. We hope that you will attend this special evening in order to get all the information you need about our school.

In addition to the open house event, we have a number of resources available to help prospective students learn more about us.  Please take some time to visit each one so you have a full picture of our program.

  1. www.campbellib.org: this is a link to the new program website, and it contains lots of information about CHS IB.  Look for the “IB Information” tab, which includes the program profile, brochure, video, and much more.
  1. www.facebook.com/groups/487792901265297/: this is the Facebook page for students and parents to ask questions about IB–the classes, the teachers, the work load, the social experience, the extracurricular options, or anything else on your mind.  The page is moderated by IB students, so feel free to ask anything that’s important to you!
  2. www.facebook.com/groups/487792901265297/#!/groups/chsibalumni/ :  this Facebook page is dedicated to the network of CHS IB Alumni whose experiences have prepared them to thrive in college, travel the world, and gain employment in a wide range of fields. Since the IB Diploma prepares students to succeed in any discipline, not just one or two, you will be able to see what is possible through an IB education.

To reserve your place in the freshman class for next year, please indicate your choice by selecting CHS IB in the application portal by Monday, March 23rd. A reception and orientation for all new IB students and parents will be held the week of March 30th for the purpose of enrollment/registration.

Once again, congratulations on your acceptance!  By selecting the IB Program, you are joining an exclusive and remarkable population of students around the world.   If you have questions, want to make an appointment with the IB Coordinator, need to schedule a shadow day, or require more information, please contact us.  We congratulate you on taking this great step forward in your academic career, and we look forward to seeing you soon at Open House on March 10th!
